Living in underprivileged communities in Haiti presents immense challenges for children and youth. One of the most devastating issues is Restavek, a modern form of slavery that continues to affect vulnerable children. Despite the abolition of traditional slavery, many parents and families, unable to care for their children, send them to live with other families. Tragically, these children are often treated as unpaid labor, performing all household chores and denied an education. They are robbed of their childhood, their dignity, and their future.
